Boyfriend decided to eat Bidayuh cuisines just now, and we had an awesome dinner at Aroma Cafe, near Ban Hock Road or Tabuan Road. LOL I had my chicken porridge, while he ordered Ayam Pansoh, Daun Bandung, and Umai.
He finished the meals all while me, as usual could not make it to finish my porridge since I was very full. Luckily my boyfriend has been into Umai lately. The first time I introduced to him Umai, he rejected and didn't want to eat or taste it anymore.
But during our last meet up with Sabahan Bloggers (Daniel & Emelda), a friend of ours, Mike, introduce us Umai at the Topspot Center, and boyfriend loves it. He started to eat Umai but only Umai from certain places.
At the Aroma Cafe, he kept on saying that the Umai was nice and cheap. He regretted that he didn't order for medium or may be larger portion of it. Nahhh... But I kind of love it, to see him eating something that I like soooooooooooooo much! :)
Anyway, Aroma Cafe is as nice as the name. They serve free wifi, cheap food and good ambiance for people who wants to enjoy local cuisine especially Bidayuh. It's hard nowadays to find one shop serving local food here in Kuching, luckily Aroma Cafe has it.
It was very cheap, and I mean it. Boyfriend told me the price was below RM45. We had large portion of Ayam Pansoh, medium portions of Daun Bandung and Umai, and medium portion of chicken porridge, with 2 cans of Sprite, 1 glass of Samboi, 1 glass of Teh C Peng, and a glass of plain water. Overall, it was only RM43. Cheap right? :)
